Portland’s first Somali coffee shop rises above Grnd
Portland has seen a rise in Somali coffee shops in recent years, with the latest addition being Abdu’s Somali Coffee Shop. Located in the heart of downtown Portland, Abdu’s is making a name for itself with its unique Somali coffee and tea offerings.
Owner Abdu Ahmed, originally from Somalia, opened the shop with the goal of bringing a taste of his home country to Portland. Despite facing challenges during its first few months of operation, including a fire that forced the shop to temporarily close, Abdu’s has quickly become a popular spot for locals and tourists alike.
