The National Weather Service said that there is a possibility of the aurora borealis being seen in New York, as a geomagnetic storm is expected to hit Earth’s atmosphere.
The best chance to see the Northern Lights will be on Saturday night into Sunday morning, especially in areas with clear skies and minimal light pollution.
In order to increase chances of seeing the phenomenon, experts recommend finding a dark spot away from city lights and looking towards the northern horizon.
The Northern Lights are a natural light display that is typically seen in high-latitude regions such as the Arctic and Antarctic. However, on rare occasions, they can be seen in more temperate regions such as New York.
