Portland’s Legacy Health and OHSU sign merger agreement
PORTLAND, Oregon (KTVZ) – Portland-based Legacy Health and Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) have signed a definitive agreement to merge.
The agreement was signed on Monday and is subject to customary regulatory approvals. The merger will bring together two of Oregon’s largest health care providers, creating a combined entity that will serve patients across the region.
Legacy Health President and CEO Kathryn Correia said in a press release, “This is a transformative moment for health care in our region. By joining forces with OHSU, we will be able to enhance the quality and breadth of services we provide to our patients.”
OHSU President and CEO Dr. Danny Jacobs added, “This merger will allow us to better coordinate care for patients and improve health outcomes across the community. We are excited about the possibilities this partnership presents.”
The merger is expected to be completed by the end of the year, pending regulatory approval. Together, Legacy Health and OHSU will have a combined workforce of over 20,000 employees and annual revenue exceeding $4 billion.
