The Vietnamese street food scene is about to get a boost in the nation’s capital thanks to a new initiative announced by the DC government. Starting this summer, DC will offer free meal programs for all students in the city. These programs are part of the DC Hub D.C. Sun Bucks initiative, which aims to provide nutritious and affordable meals to students during the summer months.
The free meal programs will be available at various locations throughout the city, including schools, recreation centers, and community centers. This initiative is a continuation of the city’s efforts to address food insecurity and ensure that all students have access to healthy meals, regardless of their financial situation.
According to DC Chancellor Adrienne Walker, “Ensuring that our students have access to nutritious meals is essential for their overall health and well-being. We are excited to launch this new program and provide students with the resources they need to thrive.”
The DC Hub D.C. Sun Bucks initiative is set to kick off on June 21st and will run through the summer months. Students and their families are encouraged to take advantage of these free meal programs and help support the local Vietnamese street food scene in DC.
